Eliza King just released her new album called The Pressing In.
In this episode Eliza shares more in depth about the project in its' entirety and we get to hear snippets of a handful of the tracks.
Central to this project is the idea that beauty is born through suffering. Life (or God, in his sovereignty) sometimes presses in on us, and in this uncomfortable and painful process we may feel crushed and squeezed, but something of worth is always produced at the same time. Equally though, we are invited to ‘press in’ (pursue, seek, contend) for the calling and purposes of God in our own lives, in order that He may shape us into the likeness of the Son, and grow up good fruit in us. These songs paint scenes of ‘pressing in’ moments - of olive groves, narrow roads, alabaster jars, trees planted by the stream, and scars that speak of healing.
